A man has died after falling off a bridge in the north-west of Tasmania, police say.

The incident happened on the River Tyne in Stirling, about 200 kilometres north of Hobart.
Police said a man fell from a bridge onto the riverbank, but did not immediately tell them.
They said he was not wearing a life jacket.
The man, who is believed to be aged in his late 20s, was wearing a white fleece jacket with a black patch on the left sleeve and white shorts.
He had a large amount of water on his body and was found by a member of the public on the beach.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
