In the middle of a busy bar in Delhi, a man approaches a drunk woman.
The woman starts arguing with him and is yelling at him to stop.
The man then starts punching the woman.
While she is fighting with him, she throws her phone at him.
The attacker is arrested and is booked under Section 307 (assault), 302 (voluntarily causing hurt), 420 (voluntary damage to property), 324 (voluntariness), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (criminal trespass) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
He is accused of violating the law.
The incident took place on December 16, 2017.
The victim had to undergo a CT scan and surgery.
“I had a headache and a fever when I came to the hospital,” said the woman who is in her 30s.

Police are investigating the case and will take into consideration any mitigating factors.
“There is no law against a drunken fight.
However, it is a serious crime and the victim should be charged with assault,” said police officer Ashish Jain.
“In the case of an assault charge, the prosecution would have to prove that the man had been drunk and it would be difficult to prove if he had had a drink,” he added.
